The dragon fish, or better known over here as the Arowana, is a popular choice among fish lovers to keep not only because of how absolutely gorgeous they look, but they’re also believed to bring good luck and prosperity.

Considered to be the world’s most expensive pet fish, the price of an Arowana depending on its features can reach up to the tens of thousands – and even more! They’re also known to live up to over twenty years in captivity.

Here on Mudah.my, there’s a whole variety of Arowana to choose from and we’ve put together a list of some we thought you should check out:

Malaysian Golden Arowana

Did you know the Malaysian Golden Arowana (also known as the ‘Golden Crossback’) originates from the lakes and rivers off Bukit Merah, Perak? Other names they’re known by include the Pahang Gold, Malayan Bonytongue, Taiping  Golden and also the Malaysian Gold. Unsurprisingly, these golden fishes are highest in demand because of the extra good fortune they’re attributed with.

Blue Crossback Golden Arowana

Is it gold? Is it blue? How about both? That’s what you get with the beautiful Blue Crossback Gold Arowana (or the Malaysian Golden Blue Base Arowana) – prominent blue scales that have golden rims on the outer edge. This stunning breed hails from Pahang and Bukit Merah, Perak and is sought after by Arowana fans from all over the world for obvious reasons!

Silver Arowana

The Silver Arowana actually originates from South America. Specifically, the Amazon River basin where it is often referred to as the Dragon Fish or Monkey Fish. The local versions are priced much cheaper compared to the other colour variations, which makes it suitable for those who are new to keeping Arowanas. Then there’s the Platinum Silver Arowana species and those can get really, really expensive!

Albino Silver Arowana

Albino Silver Arowanas, as the name suggests are basically Silver Arowanas that have the albino colour mutation. The distinct features besides its ghoulish glow thanks to its silver scales with a pinkish hue would be their smoky red eyes.

King Arowana

The King Arowana gets its name from the majestic spoon-head/hump exhibited by the fish. Some find it too different from the conventional arowanas body shape but because of its rarity, they consider these fishes are prime investments. Get the only one on Mudah currently HERE.

Red Arowanas

Widely popular, Red Arowanas also come in a few lovely variations like: Blood Red, Super Red, Chilli Red and of course, the granddaddy of the lot, the beautiful Violet Fusion Super Red Arowana. Which sounds a bit like a DragonBall character. Most of the above come from the Kapuas River System in Kalimantan, Indonesia.
